Frequently Asked Questions

What is therapy, how does it help me, and how long will it take?

Therapy is sometimes referred to as “psychotherapy” or “talk therapy.” To Fireweed + Cedar Wellness Collective, therapy is best defined as a collaborative journey utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities to heal past trauma, overcome struggles, and/or achieve your goals. Therapy helps by providing a safe space to share, applicable tools, and knowledge (AKA psychoeducation). Time commitment varies from person-to-person. However, most treatment plans are written on a 12-week basis.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! Fireweed + Cedar is proud to improve mental health care accessibility by partnering with the following insurance networks:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem Elevance
  • Carelon Behavioral Health
  • Centivo
  • CHAMPVA
  • Cigna & Evernorth
  • Firefly Health
  • Moda Health
  • Optum
  • Oscar Health
  • Oxford
  • Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska
  • Quest Behavioral Health
  • Sana Benefits
  • TriWest (Including VA Community Care & TriCare)
  • UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH

If you do not see your insurance listed, out of network benefits may be available to you. We partner with Thrizer to check and process client out of network benefits:

Thrizer is a payment platform designed to simplify out-of-network therapy costs by handling insurance reimbursement on behalf of clients. Instead of clients submitting superbills manually and waiting for reimbursement, Thrizer charges them only their estimated co-insurance upfront and directly manages claims with their insurance provider. This can significantly reduce out-of-pocket expenses and eliminate the hassle of navigating insurance paperwork, making therapy more accessible and financially manageable.

It is not a requirement to use this service and there are fees associated, depending on what level of support clients select. This collaboration with Thrizer is strictly for client convenience and is entirely optional. Fireweed & Cedar Wellness Collective does not earn additional money beyond their therapy session fees if clients use Thrizer.

Fireweed & Cedar Wellness Collective is not responsible for information or claims on Thrizer’s website. Clients use Thrizer at their own risk and agree to Thrizer’s independent privacy policy, terms and conditions, and Business Associate Agreement. All three documents are available upon request.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens, we get it. All clients are granted one free “life happens” cancellation. Additional late cancellations/no-shows result in a fee equivalent to the total cost of services. This fee is not billable to insurance and is the client’s responsibility. This fee is charged to the client’s credit card at the end of the business day of the missed or cancelled appointment.

Yoga, group classes, red light therapy appointments: non-refundable non-transferrable.

Memberships: non-refundable and non-transferrable.

What should I expect during my first session?

Think of the first session as an opportunity to get to know each other. Your therapist will ask a variety of questions, ranging from what you do for work, how many siblings you have, and other topics. You’ll also be asked what’s prompting today’s visit and what your perspective on therapy is. Then, together, you and your therapist will create a game plan (formally known as a treatment plan) to achieve your goals.

Do you prescribe medications?

No, we do not have any prescribers on staff; therefore, we do NOT prescribe medications or provide medication management services. If clients are interested in exploring medication options, we recommend they reach out to their Primary Care Manager. Alternatively, we can provide recommendations to licensed psychiatrists in the community.

What should I wear to red light therapy?

Red light therapy is most effective on bare skin. We recommend wearing minimal, comfortable clothing. You’ll have privacy during your session to dress down to your comfort level. Hooks and storage bins are available in the private red light suite.

I’ve never done yoga - can I still come?

Absolutely! Our classes are designed to be inclusive, with multiple levels offered for every pose. No flexibility or prior experience required.

Can I book multiple services in one day?

Yes! Many members pair yoga or red light therapy with a therapy session. You can schedule your day of healing all at once.

Do you offer memberships?

Yes, we offer four tiers designed to meet a variety of needs. Fireweed, Cedar, & Flourish are month-to-month with no long term commitment. Evergreen is charged once per year. All memberships are non-transferrable, non-refundable. Please purchase mindfully.
